Pickford Film Center (PFC) and Mount Bakery will co-produce the 3rd Annual Bellingham Bike-In on Saturday, August 20th in downtown Bellingham. The event is a celebration of the bicycle as a mode of transportation and recreation as well as a chance for the PFC and Mount Bakery to highlight their corner of the Old Town neighborhood at Bay and Champion Streets.
In addition to screening a collection of short bicycle movies and the ever-popular, Pee Wee’s Big Adventure, the event will also include pre-movie entertainment, a beer garden featuring Boundary Bay brews, food by Mount Bakery and a bicycle “show ‘n shine” competition. Movies will be shown on the PFC’s large inflatable screen.
Festivities will begin at 5:00 pm with live music and the “show ‘n shine” followed by the bicycle shorts at approximately 8:45 pm. Seating will be provided on the street with folding chairs, however bringing chairs is also encouraged. Admission is by donation with all proceeds going towards the Pickford Film Center.

8:15 pm – Show n’ Shine winners awarded, other announcements, prizes

Best Special Custom – Hand-built, novelty, multi-wheeled, tall, circus bikes.
Best Decorated Bike - Any type or year of bike decorated with streamers, lights, cards.
About the bike shorts and feature film
The 2011 Bike In on Bay Street will feature a selection of the best bike themed short films from the Northwest and beyond. Expect to see international and locally produced films that explore the cycling imagination through animation, humorous tales, and crazy stunts.
